Blood Safety
CAMRIS assists with program planning, implementation and evaluation to make blood programs safer. supporting safe blood programs and blood safety address HIV/AIDS, malaria, child survival, safe motherhood, emergency care, infection control, health service strengthening, clinician and technician training, blood tracking IT, and monitoring and evaluation. CAMRIS experience and capabilities include:
- Development (with funds from the U.S. Department of Defense) of blood tracking information systems for the US Armed Services and available for all US agencies and the commercial sector, targeted particularly for the blood impacts of condition in the developing world.
- Monitoring and Evaluation capacity and assistance for blood programs;
- Diagnostic for blood testing- development, manufacture, distribution and application in the developing world.
- Worldwide, long term corporate ties and integration with Safe Blood International and its blood programs in 22 countries in Africa, in China and India and other countries in Asia, in Latin America, and in the Middle East and countries of the previous Soviet Union.
- Blood Systems and Blood Safety strengths across the board with Safe Blood International include:
- Blood Center development and blood systems support for government, private and NGO, hospital and clinic systems;
- Program Support through blood safety for HIV/AIDS, malaria, infectious disease, safe motherhood, emergency care, and health and hospital services
- Staff Strengths including in-country local staff leadership and professionals supported by renowned international experts engaged in building and expanding infection free blood supplies;
- Youth and Young Adult programs providing blood donor and health program support through Safe Blood’s Club 25 Societies in 16 African countries with 65,000 members and other in India, China and Latin America;
- Training in-country for blood technicians and clinicians through the Safe Blood Institute for Transfusion Medicine and its successful record of Africa Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone training and its notable record in China;
- Blood Policy and procedures success in African countries and China;
- Organizational links and excellent working relationships with the other organizations in the blood field;
- Private Sector and Public-Private Partnerships to support blood programs and to fund medicaments and diagnostics.
